How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Pawleys Island rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Pawleys Island vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Pawleys Island area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Pawleys Island visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking the right Pawleys Island vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Wyndham SeaWatch
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
